Wow, those are nice. I wonder if they can hold up... someone should try these and let us know...

the only other issue is that the ATV wheel manufactors just reciently started the 14 in wheels, most other custom wheels are made in the 12 in diameters.

While these are indeed 4 x 110 wheels, and look to have about the right offset for these cars, these will not be a DOT approved wheel. That does not mean they aren't strong enough to use on a car. The center is quite large, and the entire unit would be relying solely on the lugs to support the weight and forces exerted by cornering.
I can only assume that the manufacturer(s) will not make any statements about the ability to use them on a street car, due to the lack of the DOT approval. The DOT approval would likely double the cost of the wheels.

The manufacturer emailed me back saying that the wheels are rated at 650lbs per wheel.

That comes out to 2600, so with you and a passenger in the car would max out these wheels which is not good

However if you had a car that you reduced the weight on for autocross, and you were doing the course yourself, they would make exceptionally cool, lightweight autocross rims

Massive weight reduction + 1 person = *probably* okay... I think

I wouldn't be the guniea pig tho

Is that 650 rating static or dynamic. If dynamic, that will be the max load, which includes all forces that can be be put on the wheel. Do I need to list them? Dynamic loads can be several times static loads.

He didn't go into detail, but I would assume that it would be dynamic since the wheels have to stand up to a lot more being designed for ATVs.

Suppose that you try it....and it fails in a turn, you lose control and crash your rex......Who wants to risk that....

I would advise against it unless the manufacturer comes out and says that they will work for our cars....

Even in autocross, you have less weight so you can exert more G forces around the corners...which equals more load on the wheels......

How big is an ATV, what does it weigh? If it weighs 1/4 of what a 7 does, why would they build a wheel that is is 4 times stonger than need be, bad economics maybe.

These wheels are not designed to handle the loads that a 7 will incur. Did you ask that question? Are they rated to be mounted on a 2400+lb automobile?

My Epsilons are spun aluminum, thinnest wheel I have ever owned, true 3 piece wheels. The 2 half shells, without the center, weigh more than these atv wheels. And yes, the Epsilons can bend on a large pothole.

I agree that these wheels are too weak for cars, and I’m sure as hell not going to be the first one to try them on my 7, I love her too much to do so. My interest in them is that I was only intrigued that I had found someone manufacturing wheels in the 4x110 pattern, and the possibility of them actually working.

Be sure to shoot video so we can see what it looks like when a wheel completely fails at high speed.

lol. Just don't do it. You're going to owe your buddy new rims.

On a related note, since when is +10 or -47 the correct offset for a 7" rim?
I was under the impression my Kosei's were +20 on a 7", and I couldn't fit more than a 195/55 on the front.

On an unrelated note, I want to sell them in a month or two. I think. What're they worth around here?

you can only fit a 195? i have a set of 225/45's on my kosei's.

and i wouldn't use an atv wheel

regardless of how much punishment an atv can put on a wheel, it still can't match the lateral stress a 2300+ lb vehicle can diving into a turn hard on the brakes during an autocross. i wouldn't put a wheel on my car that was meant for an atv. there's a reason wheels r "DOT approved".

Isn't that offset still way off? The +10 might fit, but I doubt it?
Keeble, I had 205/60s on it initially, and they hit the shock tower, I didn't feel like buying another set that 'might' fit, so I went with 195/55. What aspect ratio are your 225s?

ehh I'm a fan of "keeping it old school" don't like these wheels. also being that they're ATV wheels and they're ment to hold a lot of abuse doesn't mean they're designed to hold up the G's of high speed turns, granted on street tires you might hit 1g but I still wouldn't put my car at risk much less my life. if it's gonna be a trailer queen, sure why not, but other wise, i don't think the benefits out weigh the risk...

Hahaha has anyone looked into the 4x110 snow trax for atv's? At least you wouldn't be doing more than 40 when they failed..! I'd stay away from those rims...
