Found 2nd hand supercharger kit cheap
Looking through the local paper i found a supercharger kit to "suit 13B , with spares, bolt on $650"aus. I gave the guy a call on his mobile but had poor reception so didnt get much information, he is away for the weekend so i will going to look at it on monday probably. What he did say though was it was a Holden Commodore superchager with a rochester carby (i think thats what he said), includes manifold and all parts needed. When i questioned him about power gain and how much boost it gave he didnt know but said gave heaps of power.
What should i ask and look for when i go look at it on Monday? I was thinking of offering him $450 - $500 for it all and installing it myself, as a cheap HP add, get me up to 180rwhp i hope. I dont know much about superchargers but was wondering if i would be able to adjust the boost and if i could hook up a S4 intercooler i have lying around??
I have a S1 with a S4 stock 4 port turbo motor with a 12A nikki, since the motor originally had a turbo it has been build for boost so as long as i dont go overboard in the boost compartment, maybe 10psi i shouldn't blow my rotor??

I dont think you can intercool that kind of supercharger setup, but if you have a stock S4 13B, you should be good for at least 5-6 PSI with no worries at all, as I think thats what they ran stock when they were turbo. I think that with the proper setup and tuning, you could be good for 10 PSI easy too, but dont quote me on that. As long as you have your fuel system up to par, and the ignition system timed right, you should be fine. Its all in the tuning.

timmya2....to clear things up it is a 13B with a 12A nikki, not 12A turbo
Been searching the net for information on superchargers but havent found much, learnt that there is differents types and thats about it. Anyone know any sites about superchargers or with information on em?
Was hoping to get away with a VL turbo fuel pump (From a 3 ltr turbo commodore) but if that wont cut it will prob go a holley pump and regulator.

Well, it probably doesn't apply, but years ago I used to supercharge brit cars with positive displacement blowers, and it worked very well, once you got the right carb (never did a blowthru, though). Same gas mileage, no worse engine failure, burned brit valves (made of pot metal I believe!) but that's moot. Seems like a good deal since the lowend torque comes on rightaway when you hit the pedal and it's simple.
