FlyWheel Removal?!?
Hey Guy's I'm looking to buy a new 12a motor but I have to switch the flywheels around. I'm a noob when it comes to some of this stuff. Someone Told me that I need like a 4 foot breaker bar. Is it really that hard to remove the damn thing? *Shrugs* Just Wondering.

you need the 2 1/8 inch socket, and yes, a longer breaker bar helps give you the torque to get the nut off.
I personally did it with an 18 inch bar, but I produce lots of torque. I tend to sheer off bolts if I'm not careful I'm not saying I'm built like Hulk Hogan - I just have good torque output.
Anyway - get a heavy sledge, and you'll likely have to put less torque out. Use moment intertia to your advantage by taking swings at the bar with the sledge, and when it goes, it should come off easily. Of course, be careful that the flywheel doesn't spring off

i used a 400ft/lb impact wrench with a 54mm socket
after i got the nut of i threaded two bolts into holes on the flywheel and tightened them which popped it off with ease.

love the braaaap
I think there is something like 300ft/lbs of torque on that bolt. Not something you want comming off while you are reving at 7500rpm. Just use the longest bar you can, if you have a lift. If not, you might have to use an impact gun, and a strong one at that. I had some trouble with the bolts to hold the ball joint to the strut. The impact gun I used wasn't strong enough. I ended up using a lug wrench, the T kind, so I could get enough torque on them.

Haha....
The dreaded 2 1/8th" flywheel nut.
I tried for about an hour with a 240lb impact gun...lol.
Finally, used about an 18" breaker bar, and a small 11lb sledge, and just beat the breaker bar about 5 times, and the nut broke loose.
Its not easy taking ridiculous overhead swings at a 1/2" wide bar......lol. I made everyone leave the garage while I did this.
