carb idle and roughness

I removed my rats nest according to pratche's tut. Started right up, but seems to idle a little rough. Do I need to adjust the A/F mixture and the idle and is it normal to have to readjust the timing? I don't want a race car, just a daily driver that gets average MPG. Doesn't seem like my secondary is opening up either. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Todd

Re check all the stuff you capped/blocked. Classic symptoms of a vacuum leak.

I hate to ask the obvious, but ... how was the idle before you removed the rats nest? Is the idle worse now than before?

Yes it is a little rougher. I guess I can take some carb cleaner and start checking for leaks. So removing the rats nest won't call for an adjustment in timing?

No timing adjustment required.
