Flywheel off.....finally !!!
Flywheel off.....finally !!!
Well I finally got the flywheel off after a couple hours. First used a puller and hammer, didn't work. Then used the gas wrench ( torch ) and heated the flywheel and it came off after a few minutes. The book makes it sound so simple. I did notice on both of the rexs the washer that is bent against the flywheel nut ( to prevent it from spining off I assume) is not there. With the amount of torque on this nut I don't think it is too big a concern. Also got the pilot bearing out in 30 seconds without the tool. Funny thing, it is on it's way here. Anyone want it for say $85. Brand new, unused. Mabe I will just send it back to mazdatrix. Tomorrow is axles and clutch.
