flywheel inspection plate

Is it possible to remove the flywheel inspection plate on a stock 12a while it is still in the engine bay? If so, can someone post pictures of how to remove it, thanks?

There are two inspection plates. One on the top of the rear iron and one on the passenger side of the rear iron.

See where the opening is on top above the flywheel, this is where one inspection plate goes.

The other one is on the left hand side of this pic. I don't have a cover on this one yet but you get the idea.

Thanks for the pictures! Is it possible to remove the plates without removing anything else (i.e. the carb)

Yes, use a 1/4" ratchet with 12mm socket and a long extension.

What are you trying to achieve as i believe it is pretty straight forward particulary on cases where the rats nest is in tact.

Passenger side behind the exhaust downpipe; rear plate between the rear rotor housing and bellhousing. Plate is held by 2 10mm bolts
