how do you check the rear end and tranny on a 1982 rx-7?

What fluids would you use for the rear and the tranny(5 speed man)

Check the fluids using the fill plugs on the side of the trans, and the rear of the differential. Use the best synthetic fluid you can afford, Redline and Mobil 1 are some of my choices.

The trans is on the driver's side and the rear end is in the back (big nut). Use some good 90W gear lube.
