Flooded First gen
Alright so I live in Canada and its cold as **** here in the winter and well ya she finally flooded right before it got warm out. I've tried letting it dry out, cranked it over without any plugs in it, replaced the plugs, checked just about everything to be sure but she wont start now, its got spark and its getting gas into the carb but it wont start. Anyone got any ideas on wat could be going wrong and any other ways I could try to unflood it?

Go to the store somehow, get some Gumout brand carb cleaner, spray liberally into your air filter, then some down the primaries witht the butterflies open. Get in the car, wait about twenty seconds, step all the way down on the gas, no choke and give it a spin. Make sure there's enough juice in the battery for a good fast spin or you're wasting your time...should do the trick...

had the same recently,,,found a vaccum hose loose, engine would act like it wanted to start but would not and i would end up flooding it again,,,then i looked and found the large hose at the passenger rear of carb was off,, cleaned the plugs , made sure the plug wires were on tight and she fired right up,,,good luck....

all i did was put 2 oz of MMO on each side of the rotors down the carb.... let that sit for 2 days... put 1 ounce down each primary in the carb and it fired right up.....
