fixing things on the gsl-se
the oil cooler on my gsl-se has developed a leak after breaking off the rotted rubber absorbers. probably hit something and cracked the aluminum. anyway, i took the oil cooler off and looked in the top hole. i can see something moving inside that looks shiny like a paper clip, what's this for? is it supposed to be in there? i would like to know before i weld the crack and install it in the car.

Tennis, anyone
Does the piece move around ?? will it come out ?There is a bypass valve in the coolers, maybe yours died and came apart. But there should be nothing floating around
the oiling system .
the oiling system .

Theres a big bolt on the bottom that you can take out which is the bypass. Take that out and see if it takes out the piece youre looking at. I would suspect that anything in there is supposed to be in there though...

PS - Heres a picture of the thermostat, spring, and plug that go into the hole in the bottom of the cooler from when I was restoring my oil cooler. Maybe what youre seeing is a part of this assembly?

thanks but that's not it. i did pull it out and it is a nearly flat piece of metal with a triangular ridge pattern. it measures almost 1cm across and it was a hard to remove. if there's anymore left in there i don't think its going to force it's way out..
