Fixing Starter, New To Rotery

I Have An 83, 12A And A Haynes Manual But Does Anyone HAve Pictures Of Where The Starter Is? The Haynes Isn't Very Good And I Just Can't Seem To Find It, They say Left Side Of The Engine Near The Oilpan... Maybe I'm On The Wrong Left But I'm Not Sure.

No pictures, but having had to replace starters on my car more than anything else, I can tell you it is under the engine on the driver's side of the car where the engine and transmission meet.

Well first you need to remove the flux capacitor to see it!

But honestly, its like Normality glitch said drivers side of the car, beside the transmission bellhousing. Which is the spot that starters always sit because they need to engage into the flywheel/flexplate teeth.

You can also follow the positive battery terminal right to it. Make sure to disconnect this at the battery.

Once you find it, a helpful reminder, is that one bolt goes in one direction, and the other comes in through the other direction.

You might want to take the time to make sure that the starter is actually faulty before replacing it. Often the battery cables will become corroded and lead one to suspect that the starter is bad. Mine has over 200,000 miles on it and still works great...
