Well I sure wouldn't buy the car. That picture was obviously lifted from a website as it's a right hand drive car. Not only that, but the VIN supplied is for a 12A powered 1985, not a SE. Check it out:

He states the interior is brown, but shows a grey interior pic.
To the best of my (admittedly limited) knowledge the SE wasn't available with black-over-brown colour sceme, which means a repaint. Used cars sold with a colour-swap are often repainted to hide damage of some sort...

The car's condition is as stated " Fully reconditioned " The car could pass for brand new.
reconditioned from what? Those are 12a wheels also..
somebody ambitious enough to run the VIN?

Airflow is my life
Those are steel wheels. That pic IS from a brochure, Im sure of it. This is misrepresentation at its worst. I've seen that pic on another website. Dee Cee's rotary webpage or something like that.

It is expressly forbidden by eBay rules to e-mail a bidder and warn them about an auction. You'll get in trouble quicker'n hell that way. Just go to eBay's "safe harbor" and report it as a fraudulent auction. They'll yank the auction. I know, it sucks, but that's the way it is.

On Apr-18-03 at 09:22:51 PDT, seller added the following information:
I would to thank everyone for there interest in the car, however, I will not give anyone any phone calls or discuss the reserve price. I have a very busy schedule that's why I listed the car on Ebay so that I would not be inundated with phone calls or haggleing over the price. Also, I have no other pictures. The one shown was taken by the body shop that did the paint job and is being used for their advertisments. The car's condition is as stated " Fully reconditioned " The car could pass for brand new. Mechanicly the car is 110%. I am selling it so that I can make room for my next project.

I saw that pic a year ago on some FB info site, its a 82 (if i remember right) with steel wheels from a magazine ad back in the 80's. Either its a fake auction, or the guy doesn't have any pics of his car so he put that one up just for the hell of it, either way i wouldn't even consider buying it.

I am sure the car isn't as nice as he would like anyone to believe.....but that happens thousands of times per day at car dealerships around the world.
The picture, is obviously a fake.....just a nice shiny old First Gen....that he figured would spruce the ad up a bit.......since he didnt have pics of his own car.
That, in itself is shady......but the guy saying he has no time for emails asking questions, and just wants to sell it on Ebay to avoid questions..........thats just stupidity.
The only bad thing, is ........if the auction DOES end with a winning bid.......the potential buyer will see the car, and back out of the deal. By the statements this shady seller has already made.......the now canceling buyer.......can expect to recieve an undeserved negative feedback on Ebay of "Deadbeat bidder.......would not pay".
Kinda sad. You really have to be a pro buyer on Ebay......or you get yourself into trouble quickly.
