First Gen RX7

Im losing coolant, sometimes pressure back to overflow jar. No oil contamination in coolant, no water in oil, no coolant leaking on ground. Replaced water pump. Compression shows 100lbs at three cycles on each rotor.Cracked block?

Did a coolant flush. Also, no white or blue smoke out the exhaust. Car runs great, just boils back through the radiator and calls for more coolant.

Welcome to the forum!

Do you have bubbles in the overflow tank? If so, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but that means that there's an 0-ring broken in the engine. Hopefully this is not the case because the only real way to fix it is an engine rebuild. But.... here's a page that describes a method for giving it a little more life. O-ring Fix. Good luck!

Thanks!

I'm going to try it. Flush out the system several times with water, then flush w/degreaser, then add CRC Block Weld to the water and hope for the best.

This actually sounds real simple. Just go buy a new radiator cap, try it. Get the one with the lever ontop. its like $3 at advanced or autozone. Try it and then do the flush cause that never hurts eaither.

I'll do that and replace the thermostat, may as well they're dirt cheap.

Thanks all!

Sounds like the inner rotor housing o-ring/eqivilant to blowing a head gasket.

Darn sucks, had it happen once to me and a engine I got with a car I bought for cheap since it was that way.

If it starts to flood over the overflow bottle just starting it, forget about other fixes and take the engine out and fix it right. Inner housing seals are very important that they seal.
