Would be awsome!! I am considering getting back into RC's. Had all my stuff stolen about 3 yrs ago. close to $2500 worth of equipment. the kicker is that it was sitting inside a church I used to go to when it was stolen

I don't know the size of the car you're building, but you could get a model of the SA RX-7 and place the body on the RC car. I've been looking for a RC 1st gen and I haven't had any luck.

I have a Veilside FD body on my 1/10 R/C but would like to swap it for a first gen too!!! Just never found one.
On Ebay I once saw a complete rc kit from a SA, but can't remember scale or maker anymore. I also know a RX7 specialist in Holland who has a lexan body in a showcase-cupboard. It's a widebody SA, kina like the Le Mans racers of the eighties. Didn't know the maker either, and wouldn't sell :-(

Most R/C racers are 1/10th I think ... if you could get hold of a lexan shell it would be fairly easy to make a die from that shell (plaster of paris or somthing) then use a vacuum forming machine to make the shells, alternatively find an artisic freind who can make you a model to form a shell from ... a body kitted car would be best as the nose of a stock FB would not be easy to vacuum form as it cuts back in on itself

I used to be into R/C cars too ... till I worked out it was nearly as expensive as running a road car !

Seriously. Thats why I got out of it. I spend thousands upon thousands of dollars over the 6 years I was really into that hobby. Still have a few cars around, but never use them. And your correct, most of 1/10 scale. 1/8 and 1/12 are pretty common as well, but a 1/10 scale FB body would be the thing to make.

Haha yeah, I have two RS4's A Kyosho somehting or other, a Futabe FX-10 (old school ) and another Kyosho somehting or other...The first three are Nitro and the last two are electric. I got out of it cause it cost so damn much too. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted. I had an FD body on one of my RS4s though...Until I flippe dit and boke it in like 8 places .

haha FX-10 hahahahahahahhaa those things are such a joke. I've had it all, RC10's Losi XX, XX4's, my transmitter alone cost me like $350, a Futaba 3PJ. That thing rules. It holds 8 cars, and has traction control and ABS (well, they call it abs, it really just pulses the brakes). I think my XX4 has over a grand into it. haha, hows that for overkill.

Personally, I just wanted a nice race with my friend, who had a Skyline body on a Kyosho... So got myself a 1/10 Mugen-Seiki, put a FD body on, and trashed him...
Well, untill I hit something that is. The rear weel stood a little strange afterwords :-) Nothing major, all that happened was the links popped out of the ball-joints. So put it all back in, but couple of days later I notice the car misses one rear diveshaft... And: spares are unavailable in Belgium for this make!!! If anyone could help me...
I also have a 787B body (Tamiya), I bought that for the collection, still unpainted and all. I'd like to build up a car around the OS/Graupner Wankel engine one day...

Dont be dissing that FX-10...It'll outrun one of my nitro RS4s (the stock one) . Only for about 2 minutes till the battery dies though, lol. I think I need to reverse that "mod" so that the battery time is longer...Although, it makes it a lot slower . As for you...Sell those and save your car man, lol .

hey TJ; good luck out running me, that xx4 hauls. I kicked major *** with that thing back in the day. I assume since you have the winking smile next to that ABS comment you know what I was saying. Its function is similar to that of real ABS, but theres no sensors or anything, so it will pulse all the time, unlike real abs that does only when needed.

i've got a 1/10 GV super cobra with a .15 gas engine.
i don't think i've ever run it with the body on it. everytime i take it out i end up smacking it into a wall and breaking something so i wouldnt have to take it off anyways..

i havent used it in ages, can't be bothered buying batteries for the remote..
