First Drive In My Seven
Finally aquired the last bits and peices I needed today to get her running.. Over the last 5 weeks I've been dealing with fuel delivery issues, mainly an accellerator pump problem. After much dissasembly/reassembly I got it to finally squirt nice and healthy..
After a little tuning, I managed to get her to idle nice. Once it was warm, throttle response was dead on and snappy. I though, HELL YEAH! FINALLY..
Well I jumped in her and reversed out of the drive way. Rapped about 7K and dumped the clutch.. She got a little silly leaving 2, thats right, 2 nice black stripes. This confuses me, since its a S model. Of course someone could have swapped in a GSL rear axle, I'm not sure. I do like it though!
1-2 shift went nicely, then right befor the 2-3 shift she fell on her nose... Like I turned off the ignition.. ****! Letting the fuel pump run for a few moments, it started back up, quickly driaining the bowls dry.. F*CK!
So apperantly I still don't have the floats set right, or my fuel pump is weak. Still, the two city blocks I drove (not to mention the pretty black stipes in the road and in my driveway ),deeply impressed me.. I can't wait till its right...

I'm so STUPID!
I thought I'd write a little update for those who give a rats @ss..
I've been waiting on a fuel pump which is suppose to be here tommorrow. So I decided to jack her up and pull the pump. Low and behold the feed line to the pump is kinked in half. I though, "Man what a freak'n moron I am..".
Cut out the dead peice of hose and put it back together.. Fired right up and runs like a top! Took it down the road and instantly all my frustration went away.. The car is something I'd never imagined. I'm really impressed (for you that don't know, this is the first 7/rotary I've ever driven).
I'd like to thank everyone who has put in their input about this project. Especially Rx7Carl and Sterling. Your Nikki expertice is a wonderfull recource for us "carb illiterate idiot" and I'd be lost without it. Thanks again!
Hopefully I'll be able to take it to the local drag track (1000') this weekend. I'll post time slips if anyone is interested. I'm hoping for low to mid 13s (remember, its 1000' )
