FINALLY got my first RX-7

I was sooooooo excited... finally got the RX-7 I've wanted for years. It's an 85 GSL with 106,000 miles; Bought from a police auction for $400. I'm pretty sure I got a steal (even though it will need some work). I've read some of the posts here talking about low compession and I get the impression that this may be a real problem... mine tested at 85. Should I be worried about this? Also, after getting this out of the way... where is a good start towards turning this car into a pavement peeler (a good friend of mine has an eclipse I'd love to smoke, he says won't ever happen... LOL). I'm new to rotary engines, so any advise would be extremely helpful. THANKS!!!

Congrates.

I think you're compression is ok, but not really good. I don't know the US standard well, but I thought 80 was like the low-limit? Try using ATF and check the compression again.
