Figured I would post a project thread with pics of car I have been asking about

Well, the car is an 83 and I picked it up from a good friend of mine for $500. So far I have replace the clutch and done a small stereo install, and a few other small interior things. I am planning in the near future to either replace or fix front valance piece, get new tires, and replace the water pump in the 12a. Later I will eventually get it repainted and all the dents worked out because I have a friend going to wyotech for automotive refinishing that said he would do it for price of materials. I also have a 13b that I plan on rebuilding in swapping in, but that will all come in good time.

Can you imagine I got her for only $500.

That car is a steal at $500. Aside form the two dings I can make out on the rear, it's in really good shape.

Yes there are two dings in the rear, I am currently looking for the plastic that goes there so if anyone has it for sale let me know. It also has a couple dings in passenger door and one on the hood from the hood prop. But like I said earlier I have a friend who is going to take care of all of that for me.

Also got these from the same friend.

Yep interior has definitely been better but that is my favorite part of a car to work on.

I also forgot to mention that the car needs new door locks so if anyone has a matching set or know where to find them that would be helpful.

Thanks for all the compliments, really wanted to work on it today but ended up being sick all day and decided it would be better for me to stay out of the cold.

I seen you posted that in the for sale section and was wondering...
what would you do with a lockset w/no key...???

Can the dealer make a key for you or something..??

If that's the case, pullying out the last two I lost keys for wasn't the way to go huh..?

the dealer can cut you a key with the key code from the passenger side lock cylinder..well used to be able to. you can also take one of the locks to a locksmith and have a key made and then take that to the dealer and have them cut you a key from your locksmith key to a new Mazda key blank. been there and done that, lol.

I need the locks because the current locks quit working, it used to work if I tilted the key up or down but that no longer works on the drivers door, I have tried spares I had made but no luck. I hav yet to disassemble things and look at them though.

So, the car needs new rotors how hard is it to change these I took off the tire and was confused beyond all belief. Thinking I am just going to take it to a shop to have it done, also just wondering if I can fit something other than 185/70/r13's on the stock rims because no one in town sells them, if not I will prolly have to order from tirerack.
