A few Fuel Delivery related questions.
Well, i think i'm going to order a Carter pump for the rx7, and i already have a holley regulator (it came in a box of stuff that was with the car... Holley 34r-6657B is the number that i can read... it might be off though, its not particularly legible) And i'd also like to get the Yaw 0-5psi fuel gauge to aid tuning the new carb.
1) How the hell do you order things from Yawpower?
2) On a Dell'Orto, you have no return line like on the Nikki, when using a regulator, you have fuel in, out to the carb, and the other "out" to the fuel pressure gauge. Where does the excess pressure go? i guess thats a general question. Its possible that it dosent matter because it's a low pressure system.
3) Replace filter between tank and pump... check. Put filter between pump and regulator or between regulator and car???
4) Do i need any sort of return line at all? If not, what should i do with the existing one? cap it? leave it open?
5) The Carter pump is easy to mount with the stock wiring, and also physical location-wise??... pics if possible.
6) Will i need any special fittings to use with the new pump, or will i be able to take them off the old pump?
7) what would you all reccomend for baseline fuel pressure on a Dell'Orto 48 DHLA on a stockport motor with a RB Exhaust. This is something i have NO idea about... tuning with fuel pressure is going to be new to me, so i'd like to have a good place to start.
I think that's about it for now, i'm only taking precautions because i want this all right to start out with, i dont want any gremlins to deal with once i get this on the road and take the Chevelle off the insurance, therefore grounding it for winter. I need to be able to count at least slightly on the Rx7 to get me from work and back. So let me know what you guys think... and YAY!, my RB exhaust is coming friday!!

1) Cant you order from his site? i dont remember. but if you try calling your probably wont get an answer cuz IMO hes not very customer friendly.

5) the one on the race car is mounted horizontally in the stock location (naughty naughty, i know). but thats only cuz of the SRX7 rules.

7) i dont know much about the aftermarket carbs, but to make most power (Paul Yaw theory, STOCK carb), these cars are best run hot and lean, meaning fuel press being between 1.5 and 3. you got the LOW pressure regulator, right? cuz there a low and a high.
im sorry if what i just said has nothing to do with the aftermarket carb, im not very familiar with much besides stock carbs, but im trying to learn.

5-Stock wiring is kinda cheesy, I ran a heavier + wire and grounded it to the chassis. Mounting is ususally done on the frame rail where it turns up from the floorpan, I mounted mine to the sloped floopan in front of the rear axle so its clear of any road debris.
6-Fittings off what? stock pump? there are no fittings on the stocker. You'll have to mount the pump and buy appropriate fittings as required.

there are a whole shitload of little bastard things up there, and a snarl of fuel lines... any way i can clean that **** up, cause it confuses me.... hell, i'm not sure i even found the pump (i didnt have very long to look, the ground is wet... stupid snow)

i have a manual, i just didnt have time to look, i just glanced under to make sure i didnt have an aftermarket pump already (i can hear it with the ignition on, car off fairly easily) and the car CAME with that holley regulator, so it was possible i guess.
i'll look in the manual later.
just a quick check, the little thingy right in the middle of the dell'orto is the choke, and its not an air choke, its a fuel choke... which position is which?
oh, and where am i supposed to pull vac for my dizzy? the RB intake has a port on it for the brakes, but i havent found one for the dizzy, allthough i admit i havent looked that hard, when i go out, its to do something quick, cause its freezing and wet out now, and i dont have the time anyway.

well, today i found the pump, and ordered the carter pump, as well as a gauge fitting for my regulator... i also tried contacting Yaw to order his gauge.
anyone know of a way to tell which regulator i have, the high or low pressure holley, cause the numbers on it dont seem to correspond at all to the current part numbers.
