Cool fender mouted mirrors

didnt they do that to give u no blind spot???because on race cars there like that and on F1 there like that.....?????just a thought tell me what u think i have never sat in a car with mirrors like that but my friend saw these rear veiw mirriors that are curved that just clip onto ur stock mirrow and they give u no blind spot

Mirrors on F1 cars are mounted near the drivers head.

I thought it was so you didnt have to look as far away from the road. Just a quick glance instead of taking an actual look to one side or other.

they are indeed used to give you no blind spot. Th blind spot of the fender mounted mirrors is in the eyefield of the driver. So there's no real blind spot anymore. All Japanese cars used to have them, but I guess they lost them because they aren't very safe when a person is hit by the car. In europe we often still use these mirrors when towing large camper-trailers.
