Lightbulb Feedback for custom rims on the 1st gens...should we do it?

this is ridiculous, ive tried to quick reply my own post and ive failed like six times...n e wayz,
summary is
i need feedback for rims for the 1st gens, i am thinking about ordering some sets from japan and drilling them here which would give us access to atleast one new type of wheel for the 4x 110 mm in stead of these wack mesh ones
tell me your opinion..honestly...
inches
spokes or other designs(how many)
lip whatever
price youd be willing to drop on some custom made rims...be honest cuz obviously this endeavor wont be cheap at my end
thanx for everyones feedback

Good idea, but I bet it will be hard to get a group of people to agree on one or more wheel styles they would commit to. Then you have 13", 14", 15", 16", 17" etc. Oh, and then the offset thing because there are stock and rolled fenders and various widebodies. Good luck, though.

id buy some 15's or 16's, spend 4-5 hundred on just the wheels. Id either some simple 5 spoke design with a polished lip, or multiple spoke with the polished lip. EIther way that look is pretty cool. Check out http://www.rslwheels.com/wheels/?sfID1=12&sfID2=70 or http://www.rslwheels.com/wheels/?sfID1=12&sfID2=105. Those are rsl wheels, ricochet and rival, and they're cheap too. They look awesome but dont come in 4x110. Make something like those

why do it difficult?

go to Compomotive , and let them make them what you want, and they're very light
http://www.comp.co.uk/index2.htm

I found out they have a USA dealer for the rimms

http://www.usacomp.com/

Ive thought about doing the same thing Rx7doctor, I think if I marketed some 5x7 black mesh wheels with a polished lip (15x7) the whole rotary community would be very interested since wheels like that are very hard to find in new condition and 4x110. Good Luck and let me know if I can help

custom rims

You can order some billet wheel adapters form aim industries . I just did this and converted from the 4-110 to 4-100 min thickness is 11/4 this woked well for my new 15x7 rim cost is aroud 250.00 for all four.

That's a nice site. The US location is in PA. Very good selection of wheels too. I'm surprised I haven't seen this site reference on the 1st gen section before.
