FD Alternator, belt gets hot.

FD Alternator, belt gets hot.
I have an FD alternator on my 12a. None of the wiring in my car is original. I have redone all the wiring to be as minimalistic as possible.
In doing this, I am only running 1 wire off the "B" post (terminal) of the FD alternator. (See attachment). Terminal S and L are left alone and are untouched.
It seems to work just fine but something wierd is happening. My belt gets really hot within a minute or two of just idling. The belt is new and tension seems correct. The belt only goes from the alternator to the main shaft pulley, nothing else. I read online that when running alternators that are not meant to be "1 wire alternators" this can happen.
Has anyone else had this happen to them?
The only thing I can think of is to jump terminal S to the B terminal.
