FC Subframe + suspension in a FB Spring rates

Hey guys,
Im putting a FC subframe and front suspension in my FB, and Im in the market to upgrade the suspenion while im doing it..
I was looking at coilovers, but the softest front spring rate i could find is 403lb/ft.. That seems WAY to stiff..

One thing to take into consideration is Wheel rate.. could it be that the wheel rate could be lower due to the FC Front A arm?? Cuz there is no way you would want to run a sping rate that high on a first gen..

What do you guys think???

Why does a 2nd gen run WAY higher spring rates then a first gen??? There are coilovers with front spring rates from 403lb/ft all the way up to 12095lb/ft!!!!

The spring rate needs to be higher because the roll center drops a lot. This is the downside of the FC swap.

I used to run 175lb springs with the FB suspension, now I am running 250lb springs and the car still rolls a lot more. The FC control arms are shorter and mount lower.

The front end needs more spring anyway because you lose something like two inches of suspension travel, although it's almost all droop travel so if you're going for a low car then this is purely academic, I guess.

On the other hand, it's much more easy to FIND dampers to control heavy springs. And even with 250lb springs in the front, it rides like a limo and soaks up rough roads like a champ. (And it works pretty sweet on gravel/dirt )

Were I to do the swap again, instead of making 1" spacer boxes for the rear, I'd try to cut and section the front of the subframe down an inch, to move the suspension mounting points an inch higher in the chassis. The control arm pivots are pretty much dictated by the rack positioning.
