FC NA into FB w/ FC ECU
has anyone got this to work? i would love a writeup on this action, or some pointers. it would save me a significant amount of dollars to get my replacement motor running with just the FC ecu, but i've heard of people having problems for some reason.
thanks

love the braaaap
I'm currently swaping an 88 13B that came in the 84 I just picked up into my 82. From the looks of it, it isn't all that hard to do. If I'm doing things correctly, you could just use the stock engine wiring harness for the alternator, water temp, and other sensors not used by the FC ECU. For everything else, just use the FC wiring harness to make the ECU work.

FB+FC=F-ME
Ive done both in my 84.(S4 and S5 ECU)
For either swap, the majority of the wiring is plug and play on the pass. side plug. The smaller drivers side plug has to be cut at the ECU and new wires strung to the coils,CAS,ECU power relay and fuel pump/relay.Its about the same amount of work for N/A or TII engines.
The alternator and gauge sending unit's wiring is completely independant of the ECU wiring,so you can basically leave everythig on the left side of the car alone. Just mount the coils, relays and CAS,and run new wires from them to the ECU.
The tougest part of doing a complete factory ECU 2nd gen swap is getting all the input/output components that the ECU needs, and feeding high pressure fuel to the engine without baffle problems.(Use a GSL-SE tank and external pump,or retro-fit an FC intank pump into a 1st gen tank, thats what I did)
