FC experiance

I just drove a 1988 N/A FC. Damn the car handled like a tank. It accelerated sufficiantly, but when I turned the wheel you had to wait like 0,5sec before the car started to turn. And when I recentered the wheels I had the same lag, before the car was neutral again.

Is it really the extra weight what is the cause of this? Or is it also the suspension somehow?

Probably just worn out. I can't say that the FC will ever approach the go-kart feeling of the SA/FB, but in good shape, the FC suspension is quite responsive.

In my experience with the MANY FC's that BDC has had and modified over the years (but speaking specifically about the stock ones) this was never an issue. Sounds like the one you drove had issues. Ones in good shape don't handle "like a tank" IMO.

I have driven one that had all urethane bushings, sway bars, JIC Flight A2 Magic coil overs all around, sway bars with heim joints, rear tow eliminator, good tires, small stearing wheel, looped pwr steerline, etc. that thing handled like a go kart. it had a crap load of bolt on engine stuff too.
