My Fiesta has 397,000 miles on it.

I took 4th place for the season in my autocross class (FSP) last year with it.

I still think a GLC is sexier, but that green machine is hot looking!

I've never seen that color combination before. I've never liked the camel interior until now!

Well, my '83 GS has just hit 190K. If I can get the same kind of miles outta it, I will be one way happy person.
I think mine was originally that same color, but has been repainted bright red.
I would consider bidding on that one, had I not just bought the one I have, or my son was a couple years older (turned 13 today), cause he loves the FB's.

FB's die because of rust, everything else is rock solid.

Well, if the springs are stock, then they have pretty much had it. It seems to be sitting quite low.

And I thought I did pretty good with an FB that died 37 miles shy of 275,000. Had to replace the clutch, had an aluminum flywheel laying around too, three weeks of revving it like a dirtbike and it puked an apex seal. I just down shifted and drove the rest of the way to my shop. It's waiting for bridgeport after the EProd car is done.

And is making prob 350hp with a garret turbo and fmic. Paint still looked AMAZING, and its been in basically every state, and canda except for alaska and hawaii!

my first car was a base model FC, bought it with 205k, crashed it at 210k, it is now back on the road again with its new owner (my neighbor), all on the original engine

these cars are solid. treat rust before it gets out of hands and simply take care of the car and it will last as long as any other cars out there that are decades old ...
i think that mileage has ceased to be an issue with cars due to the fact that we've come so far with lubrication and cooling technologies. care seems to the be the largest factor ...

And doing just fine I might add! Took its first "post accident" spin on Friday.

Andrew (kicker14) is a good guy to be friends with. Although he'll be saying the same about me (hopefully) when I hook up his stereo.

The Fiesta rocks!

Before his FC,my brother had an 84 Rabbit convertible that had 410,000 miles and ran like a top.His base 86 has 175K and is all original from the original owner. It runs awesome.

My 84 GS-TII has 225,000+ on the chassis right now,but its FAR from the original engine.Ive been through 6 engines in the last 10 years, although I only blew one of them up. All the others were just tired (one S4 13BT) or upgraded in the name of almighty HP!

Actually, this is quite ironic. Most people that don't know rotaries say they are unreliable. But I have seen SOOOOOOOO many RX-7's with higher mileage on original engines that it puts some other piston powered cars to shame. I agree, the RX-7 is a very solid car as long as regular maintenance is kept up.

this is very true. i had 2 12A's die on me, the 1st im sure ws an omp problem(car sat for 3 yaers) the second i think was due to a lean condition possibly from trash in the carb. man i never thought a fiesta could look so good, nice job man.

My 275k car was GIVEN to me when it had 257k on it. Original (1st) owner didn't want to sell it to some kid and then have it break on them. Still had the original engine. He handed me a stack of receipts about 2" thick in a file with the car. Then he just asked for a ride home. No prob! I spent about $800 on the car, no wait $600 on the stereo, $200 on the car(mostly on the A/C) and drove it daily for 2 years. The car had a steady diet of Amsoil starting at 5000 miles.

Not to jack this thread all to hell (I DO have a RUST-FREE SA with 170k on the original motor), but thought I'd post a pic of my next little project.
I'm building a European XR2 model replica motor for this little yellow '78 that I picked up for $250. Check out the 12" factory alloys!
Just to keep this rotary-related, that's my '74 RX4 in the background.

Here's another pic of the green weenie at an autocross. My friend took the picture and the color isn't quite right.
Those are Escort GT seats, BTW.
