FB for rally?
I am getting into rallying and I would like to know who on this forum has a strictly race FB.
If there's anyone who does,, how does the car do against the competition? Is the car reliable? Are parts easy to come by? What kind of setup do you use for a usual gravel/dirt stage? How much have you put into the car to make it what it is today?
I am trying to absorb as much as I can, as I want to make the right decision.
Thanks

Check out http://www.bensrallypage.com/ sometimes already prepared FBs come up for sale on there and the owners are always great to talk with about them. Also, after this year, I think anything '83 and older will not be able to compete in the ProRally circuit unless they are registered in the Historical class if I recall correctly due to the 20 year rule. Of course if you are only going for ClubRally then you'll be okay
For the class you'd be placed in, the FB should fair pretty well still. I'd write more but I'm at work right now

The FB still does quite well... as far as setup and everything goes I only know one person who knows this best, Larry Scott.. won Rim of The World a few years back.

I always wonder why some racing series limit the age of the cars eligible. It would seem that this was contradictive to the 'trying to keep the cost down' attitude that most racing series take.

And now in the ProRally series, Mark Lovell and his codriver being killed on the first stage at Oregon Trail
Pictures of a couple of FBs from the 2002 100 Acre Woods ClubRally. Warning for modem users: picture intense even with thumbnails.
