FB motor into SA wiring questions

I have an 82 FB motor going into my 79 SA. I have noticed a great deal of differences between the two's engine harnesses, so my question is what do I need to do to make them work properly. I have searched but haven't really found anything related to my question, so if anyone has links/info it would be greatly appreciated.

On a 79 motor, the bulk of the wiring is for emissions hardware.

The 82 will have very different emissions wiring, and will not be rigged for the points ignition that the 79 had.

If you are looking to preserve your emissions, then swapping the engine externals from the 79 onto the 82 would be the simplest way, electrically.

The best way, though, is to preserve the 82's electronic ignition, strip the emissions, and work out only the critical electricals (bowl vent, alternator, temp-pres-level senders) that need to be preserved.

You'll have some body-side mods to make, too, for the ignition at a minimum.
