OR FB max wheel width fittment

So, I have a first gen rx7 (1983) with later model bolt pattern swapped in (4x114.3) and close to stock ride height (tokico blues, and RB springs). I have stock fenders. I would like to know what the largest WIDTH of wheel/tire I can fit. Currently I have 205 16's in front and 215 17's in the rear.

I would like to run 15" or 16" wheels, and go as wide as possible without ANY rubbing. Anyone have experience with this? I would like to fit 9" wides atleast, is this possible?

At the moment I have spacers, and therefore should have more room for width.. but I rub in the rear beacause of the 17's I think.

ive got 12A suspension, so the offset is different, but i'm running 15x7 with a 7 offset and 225/45/15 and i'm pretty sure i can go to 15x8 20 and a 245.

you will need some way to get some camber in the front, so the tire isn't aimed at the fender.

I have a set of 15x8 with 275/50s had to roll the fenders and the inside rubs a bit but I don't have a rear sway bar on there. I am sure that will help minimize rubbing when installed.

running 15x7 20mm OS rota RB's on the 84 se with 205/55/r15 rubber. Rubs on the front fenders doing practically any sort of driving with STOCK springs.

also running 15x7 20mm OS konig rewinds on the 85 GSL. No rub, perfect fitment. Same tires as the SE Kuhmo ecsta ASX

Try not to buy into the "19x10 rear 18x8 front, no scrub" BS you see here on the forums.

I'm more worried about total backspace available. Anyone take the measurements recently?

Offset matters a lot. You may be able to fit a wider tire if your offset is different. I'm not sure personally what the ideal measurements are, but if you poke around in the wheel threads, you can see what people have used and start from there. Personally I have some 15" Advan Onis that are 7.5" wide with -20 offset if memory serves correctly, and they fit fine. 17s might be a bit big, especially if your tires aren't rubber bands.
