Angry FB Headlight and dash light issue...

Hey Guys,

Have got a weird headlight and dash light issue.. So my car has had a full bare metal stripped out restoration and i bought it unfinished.

Just before i was going to take it for its first drive in 6+yrs since being on the road i noticed that the steering colum pins had been sheered off and i needed to join the 2 colums together..

To fix it i basically drilled 2x 2.5mm holes and put some alloy split pins through it and heat shrunk them onto the colum. What i also found was the earth wire broken so i soldered a new wire in place.

Upon putting the outer cover that has the key barrell attached and hooking up the key barrell plugs(12v ign etc) and the combination switch i now have no dash lights and the head lights wont go down when using the combination stalk.

I have a spare combination switch and also centre console switch and the issue still there.. I did make up a 3 way switch and wired it into the centre consol switch and the head lights go up and down with no issues..

I can there fore turn the head lights on with the stalk (lights go on) and then turn them off ( lights go off) but then need to flick the centre console switch to make them go down - still no dash lights..

I dont have any blown fuseable link or fuses in the cabin.. Has anyone had this issue and if so please HELPPPPP its doing my head in!!!

Does anyone know of any earth wires under the dash??? ive also checked the plugs into the back of the dash and all is sitting well on the pins..

Cheers

Damon
