Glad to hear this got resolved. I was going to suggest your alternator (actually the voltage regulator INSIDE the alternator) since you mentioned that right before the link blew you saw a major overvoltage in the system (15-16 VDC). This is ususally 1 of 2 things, the internal regulator, or the battery connection. The battery acts as a kind of regulator, posing a constant drain on the alternator to charge. If you lose the connection to the battery you lose that load and voltage can spike. Also if the regulator in the alt. goes you can spike. Both of which will fry fuses, ect.

Something to keep in mind if this happens again

Will work fine with the exception of , it will look like **** in about a week under the hood
