exhaust pipe needed

I need a s2 intermediate exhaust pipe. This is the 81-82 version that has a single inlet behind the cat. converter and splits into two pipes to connect to the muffler (appears to be #40070, 1480-40-200, in the 81-83 parts manual). Also need the heat shield that goes under it, but that's less critical.

I called Malloy and unfortunately Ray is out until next week but they said it was no longer available. Victoria British and Mazdatrix don't have any, and no joy on an aftermarket version either. Where is everyone getting these? Does anyone have one for sale? Thanks.

Yea I searched for a while but just gave up and Tig welded one up one weekend from spare 2.5 pipe. I'm sure you can have a muffler shop do it for ya for the same price you would pay for one new, probably even less.

I just talked with Ray Crowe at Malloy and he couldn't find the pipe (or the shield). I know someone who could make them, but I need an original for a model to ensure the lengths and angles are correct. The flange might be problematic too. This is crazy.

RB or Mazdatrix should have the flange, it's the same one on the end of the 2 pre-silencers in the streetport exhaust.
I had the pipe and the shield, but cut the pipe up to add another silencer before the muffler, and the shield went to the scrapyard

I've got two, one on the car and coming off this winter that has no cats (pipe welded in place), one with the cats hanging in the garage.

From me, shipping is going to be insane, and I'm not confident in getting the assembly apart to make the size more reasonable. I could probably do a trace of one or the other, and I think I've got a flange I cut off of an old muffler as well. It's a symetrical flange, so doesn't matter which one.

Let me know if you've got another solution, I should get a chance to trace that out sometime this week.

Any chance you could check on it, and the shipping? Even if it's not in perfect condition it would still be useful as a model, so I can have some fabricated. Thanks.

Yes the flanges are available, and I probably even have some in storage somewhere...

I have that pipe the one that connects to the muffler and runs up and stops about in the middle of the car. Mines pretty clean. I saved it and the muffler but I can't use them because I have a Gsl-se. Let me know if u want it I would just need your zip for a shipping quote. And I will let u know what the total would be
