exhaust note

the car has a RB street port exhaust, but that exhaust is not loud enough for me. would it be stupid to add a n1 style muffler instead of the porwer pulse? i know it would probably burn up pretty quick, but would it sound retarted?....i want noise, but a deep tone.

also, would the pre-silencers on that exhaust keep the noise to an acceptable level? how much does the power pulse muffler actually quiet down the system?

thanks guys

From what I have heard, the popwer pulse muffler does a pretty good job of making things quiet. I have the same system and have a straight through muffler and it is deep and loud. My system is pretty old though and i am sure the resonators are burnt out by now.

The RB Powerpulse, though quiet,is actually still a straight through muffler. It does a very good job of muffling because it has a large volume of internal packing and its just a plain, well made Italian product.
Any other straight through muffler will get you a lot more noise. Its all a matter of opinion whats too loud, though.
There are only a few that are fully stainless throughout(Supertrapp,Borla, some Edelbrocks),so dont expect most mufflers to last long.
