Exhaust Help PLEASE

I was looking into new cats and I see stuff like, REAR CAT and FULL CAT....Can anyone tell me in Order what the hell the things are on my exhaust (1985 5spd GS) First let me take a stab....It goes..Resonater...Cat....Muffler..? Correct me if Im wrong, Because I dont think i Have 2 cats on there..

Um, manifold, Precat, Cat, pipes, muffler? I could be wrong.

I'm pretty sure that MINE is header, custom pipes, muffler

You have 2 pre-silencers then the cat followed by the muffler.

Actually, I think Jay had it right. Thermal reactor (manifold), pre-cat, cat, pipe, muffler.

Actually I think Jay had it right! I plan on doing mine something like Headers, pipes, cat-like object (to fool the smog monsters), muffler...

There are three cats on an '85 12a...

It goes Manifold, No.1 Pre-Monolith Converter, No.2 Pre-Monolith Converter, Main Monlith Converter, muffler.

Works well for me. Except mine is stainless pipe and muffler. Hopefully it will soon be header, ss pipe, cat (if required) and ss muffler. They just ditched the visual emission check a couple years ago, but never know when they may start it back up.........
Yes, there were a total of 3 cats on the system when new. However, they can be replaced with a single cat, and still pass the sniffer test. Visual inspections vary state to state, so if you are in an emission testing area, check the requirements before spending any money.
