Exhaust hanger Fix ( idea)

Would it be possible to fix broken exhaust hangers by wrapping a stainless steel zip tie around them ( the hanger itself , not replacing the hanger with a ziptie) with a small amount of play ?

My muffler and exhaust are basically being held up by one hanger at the very end . the two in the middle are cracked in one location .

From what I have gathered . The rubber hangers are designed to stretch and contract a small amount to negate vibration . The metal ziptie would be heat/ rust resistant but not allow any expansion . Unless I give it a tad bit of play by adding some heat resistant foam between it and the original hanger . The original hangers seem pretty stiff , they provably don't stretch more than a millimeter at most . So I don't think I'd be looking much noise dampening by fixing them .

Honestly I'm not too keen on paying 17$ per hanger when it's just a piece of rubber. Unless anyone can point me in the direction of generic hangers that fit properly . Il give my Idea a go unless you guys think the idea is dangerous / stupid.

I don't know how well it would work. It would probably be ok for a temporary fix. I'll tell you what, if I come across a pair in my parts cache I'll send them to you, you pay shipping.

So you can get generic rubber that looks almost like stock except they are missing the steel inserts.
You can make your own steel inserts by hacking up some metal tubing thats the right diameter.
You should be able to go to a parts store and find them in the red help section with all the dorman
repair parts or in the exhaust section.

I've used these before: https://www.carid.com/ap-exhaust-tec...st-hanger.html

Cut an old tire and drill two holes in it... That's what I do.

EDIT: something like this.

If you could find any, I'd greatly appreciate it!

Can't I just reuse the metal from the old broken one? They are not trusted out,

Sure, that would be best and easiest.

I've also used the straps from the parts stores with the holes and a metal hanger on one end. Cut the hander off and cut the strap to a length with 3 holes in it (or more if you need it) and bolt it up. They keep it tight yet can stretch just a little.
