Borlas are quieter and flow better than most of the name brand straight-through mufflers. I'm not too familiar with the flow characteristics of Rotaflos, but Borla is proven. I'd stick with two ProXSes.

Do not use Flowmaster. All the ones I've heard sound horrible.

Exactly, two offset/center borla Prs-XS's in place of the stock cat and if he wants, a fart cannon at the end. That will give him the sound and look he is wanting for relatively cheap: ~$200.

Only if you want to replace cans every other month. The cheap cans will melt, literally melt, we aren't bullshitting you they will ******* melt LOL. As the Aussie's say it,"Teh 7 can't loose when you're rollin wiff a dumpy!" LOL

There is a guy around here with a straight pipe to a fart can. The insulation will melt, yes, but the metal wont. If he wants the looks of one, that is what he should do.
This system could be done for less than the price of a rotaflo.

if i were you id get the rotaflo little extra money but they look great and they wont fail on you...the raing beat muffler same thing and also if i were you i wouldnt dive a bridge port as your first car youd kill yourself..driving a rotary feel so much difrfrent then a piston motor...learn how to drive then insure the mazda and another thing dont do a bridge port just to say your doing a bride port cus if i were you id go with a street port..i know acouple of people that are running the same numbers as a bridge port.
