Question Erratic operation of tachometer

Ok I Got A 1980 ls And I Have A Ignition problem. When Im driving the tach turns on and off. I gessing that that means the engine is running on 2 plugs. Ok So the fuse on the botton left hand side is hot. Thare Is A Ticking uder thare to(Think That Is Some Sort Of Relay)

Ok So Im Driving And The Cab Of The Car fills Up With Smoke.......I Pull Over And The Fuse Thing Wirh The three wires. The Middle One melted........Ok So Stuck a paper clip to drive home and the tack was fine.
What Do I Do?

On the first part i would almost say that you have a bad igniter, but reading on sounds like you have an electrical short some where under your fuse box. Try and identify what wire is melting. start from there.

I think it mught be the relay but i dont know.

no, sounds more like ignitor or tach wiring

Mine was doing the exact same thing last week. Swapping in a 2nd gen Fuse box under the dash helped. Which led me to believe that my postive wire going from the battery to the fusebox was making a poor connnection.

Problem has completly dissapperated since the swap.

Also check your spark plug wires to, turn off the lights and see if you have a light show under the hood.
