enlarging fenders

ok...i've often heard of rolling fenders to get tires to fit properly.

how can i bend my fenders out/up away from the wheel? i think i've heard of a baseball bat being used...but i'd also like to hear some of your opinions

just put the car in neutral, place the bat between the tire and fender lip (in 45*angle), then slowly roll the car...

OR with the hand brake on, same technique as above except you have to turn the bat in either clockwise or counter-clockwise depnding on which side of the wheel well you wanna start.

I only rolll the areas above the tire, not the sides.
