Well first of all in the past week did you do anything to the vehicle? As far as checking for vacuum leaks spray carb cleaner around all the vacuum hose and the air boot from the AFM to the throttle body. Recommend do search on idle problems for the SE. It is an inherent problem that happens to every Se owner and one time or another and is too long to repost.
Good luck. rx7doctor

How does the car run except for the idle issue? Does it have the same power as before the idle problem?

I'm also having the same problem now that I've set my timing right,

I'm sure you'll have the same symptons...a cold start, where it's assumingly supposed to choke the engine and make it idle at the usual high rpm to warm the engine up it doesn't.

Now, the only way I've found around this so far is to rev the engine up to 1k or 2k rpms until it warms up a little bit then it will stop trying to die.

My car also hits a wall at 7k rpms, it's not the 6,500 RPM coils either because I swapped them back out with the stocks and it still hits the wall.

The wall only occurs whenever the timing is right.

If you have some power loss or when you push on the gas its a little hesitant its probably the igniter.

If you buy them new.

They pop up on Ebay now and again for pretty reasonable prices, and if you don't mind a bit of rewiring, you can use generic HEI ignitors from old Chevy or Dodge V8s, which are plentiful and cheap from places like Summit Racing.

I'm not one to re-wire ignition peices, it's already having enough problems as it is.

The weird thing is, the wall isn't as noticable when the timing is advanced, however, when the timing is set normal it literally feels like you hit a wall and hardly any acceleration is there.

The only reason I havent advanced the timing back because she actually starts most of the time now and doesnt smoke. HOWEVER, I need to premix because I have to hold the gas down sometimes to start it and injects oil so when it finally starts it blows blue smoke everywhere sometimes (GSL-SE).
