I have purchased a 1985 rx7 to race at a charity event. The car runs, but not as well as I had hoped. I am looking for some quick tuning tips. The car does not have to run forever, just make good power. The exhaust is wide open and the vaccum stuff had already been pulled and everything plugged off. The secondaries appear to be wired up for manual operation. I can run whatever fuel you guys recommend. The car has some hesitation due to the manual secondaries probably. I will try to install a thicker gasket on the accellerator pump. Any help is appreciated. Once again the car does not have to run long, just go fast.

 

i would probly replace the fuel filter and accel pump diaphram. get some NGK spark plugs too. the lowest octane is best for non turbo rotaries, but every so often put a tank of premium in with maybe some octane booster to clean the fuel system out, but then again you said it doesnt have to run long
