MI engine temp sender

I replaced the sender that hides ehind and beneath the bee hive. Guage still dont work. where next? 12A 1987,bone stock. Thanks Bob

what year is the car Bob? you said 87 but i thought you had an S3.. either way, are you sure the new sender was good or did you buy it used? next thing to do is to check the wiring and then after that check the gauge. ensure that you have the correct wire and conector plugged into the sender.

Grounding the lead that plugs onto that little temp sender will cause the gauge to peg out hot. Get an assistant and try it, that will let you know if your wiring and gauge are at fault, or if the sender is at fault.
