Engine teardown pics.

I tore down the extra 12a that I had hanging around in the garage. It was frozen and if you look at the pics you'll definately see why, there's rust everywhere from it sitting in the guy's garage who I bought the car from. Damn moisture in the air. Anyway here's the pics.

Just change the 1 to 2 and then so on up to 20.jpg.

Did he leave it out in the rain... Its too bad too as the non rusted part of the housings looked fairly shiny.

didn't look like it had been rebuilt before. I'll probably reuse the housings in a race engine build. I think that's all that can be salvaged however.

Those pics are useless. Clean all that **** up. Then bead blast the rust off. Then show us what you got. I see no evidence of a catastrophic failure. Hell the e-shaft and rotor bearings look mint. The rotors may just have surface rust, and the goop in the rotor housings say nothing. Be careful removing the side seals, they break easily if they are stuck. That whole motor may be salvageable.

yeah, i'm not convinced that that engine is a wrap (based on the pictures). i've seen engines that looked worse when pulled come back to life.
