Air Conditioning? again
Air Conditioning? again
Are there any vacuum lines that connect to the airbox that in any way have anything to do with the A/C?????????? And I finally got my compressor working by hooking up a manual power switch that goes to the clutch. It's a 12A. 84
Your heat/cool door is probably vacuum operated. My '82 operates off of the temp lever, with a nice loud thunk. On my '85 I hear a gentle hiss when the door moves. Also the little doors that route air to the dash vents, or the defroster vents are vacuum operated. And I think the recir door is vacuum operated.
With the manual power switch, recognize that you could damage stuff. High pressure could blow a hose, blow out at a weak spot in the evap or condenser, or damage the compressor. Low pressure will cause ice to form on the evap, then the freon lines, etc. Not a recommended long term way to operate.

well i do'nt think any of that is vacuum operated because it has a bar that i move and everything works except A/C. But it directs it to the right spot. I did this temporary just to see if it would work and since it does'nt then i'm gonna switch over to the new stuff R134A in about a month i should have it done but when i take pictures and post a write up of what i've done you will know why nothing vacuum operated that goes to the airbox will work. By the way has anyone ever succesfully switched their 1st gen over to R134A. I think all i have to do if flush it and replace the dryer right?
