engine swaps TX
hi... first of all im not sure exactly where to post this, so i just posted it here sorry if its misplaced...
second, i was wondering if anyone know of the engine swap laws in TX for street legal road vehicals..
you guys will probably kill me for saying this but,
i have a really good deal on a souped up 350 w/ transmission etc and found that it will REALISTICALLY cost me LESS to put the 350 in the car, than it would to buy a new 13b or have mine rebuilt (providing the overheating didnt completely warp the engine housings completely...)
i was wondering about the legalities of this in texas... i have an 85 gsl-se.
please let me know if thats possible with it still being street legal...
or for that matter... is it legal to put a 2nd or 3rd gen rx-7 motor in it since it is technically a different engine though still 13b. ???
thanks in advance

Ya, this is the wrong section, go to engine conversions(i think it is). Don't do it. You can't rev to 7 rpm with pistons without braking something
. Don't do it please. It doesn't matter if it cost less, the rotary engine is the sweetest thing and it it's way more reliable.(Theres people on this forum with 300,000 mile engines(rotary). You will regret it. If thats your hearts desire than do what you want. Thats just my opinion. Good luck with whatever you do and god bless you
