Oo, yeah, lots of posts on this, the FAQ has a good links to people who had done the swap. It's going to take alot of using the search function to track down old posts on this process.

The short answer is yes, with work.

Do a search, this comes up several times a week. You need to give more information as well, are you gonna run the stock ECU? If so then theres a bit more work.

The quick answer, Yes. Basic parts to bolt motor in. Gsl-Se oil pan, Gsl-Se front cover if you retain the OMP and want the 4 line system. 12a front cover if you don't care about OMP and are just doing pre-mix. Mod to front mounts or just bending the frount mound it's self.

For all the tech info if you are wanting to run the S5 injection is available thru the search function.

89-92 is the S5 engine.
Regardless of if its N/A or turbo, its the same work and the same issues. The electric oil metering pump is the big hurdle. It wont bolt to any 1st gen style front cover(needed to mount the engine) and the S5 computor wont work without the electric OMP.

Do some searching, its been covered by me and others many times in the past. The S5 engines are very slick and make great power, but require more ingenuity to swap into a 1st gen.

Actually Steve, I have found that you do not have to have the OMP bolted to the motor. You can have a working one bolted to the side of the bay somewhere with the ECU harness attached and it will not go into limp mode.

Yes,I know.I actually used that method for a short while when I first did my S5 swap.
However,I cant recommend it as a long term solution because of two reasons.....
1st....As far as I know,no one has done it on a long term engine swap.....which leads me to reason 2.
2nd....Without the OMP bolted to the engine, there is no lubrication flowing through the OMP.However, the internal parts of the OMP are still following commands from the ECU,continuously moving as throttle,RPM and injector signals change. No one can garuantee that the OMP wont freeze up after a while, causing an OMP code and subsequesnt limp mode activation.....unless they try it and set a standard.
Personally,I didnt want to be the one to find out, since S5 OMPs can be expensive.Besides, its not in my nature to leave something as important as the OMP,just dangling there.
Its too.....easy.
