engine stud...

i dont suppose anyone in the calgary area has an old blown 12a block theyd like to let me have the engine manifold stud and nut from......if anyone has one, that would be most appreciated.pm me if you have one and ill pick it up

Autoparts stores and hardware stores have them.
It's a standard Autmotive stud with a particular (can't remember which) thread pattern.

Take an old one with you, go to the store, get 4 new onws for the effort. When I put my engine on a stand, I needed A/C studs to bolt it up, and got them at the local "ACE" hardware store.

you bought studs from a hardware store and put 'em on your car? I guess it's just the A/C, but still.. I don't go with anything less than Grade 8 when I'm buying stuff for my car.

They were specifically Automotive studs. And I know they are plenty strong, as only 2 of them are holding up the entire engine on the engine stand.

Thats all I used on my swap were grade 8 bolts

thanks all for your help...i got a 1.5 pitch bolt from Can tire...i got lucky...

bolted it all back together (they sure dont make those studs easy access..!@#$%$)..and ahhh...beautiful quiet

just remember to torque it down properly - 2 to 3 passes
