engine removal bolts
engine removal bolts
alright heres the deal, i'm still a newbie, and i'm swapping engines, were do i mount the hoist chain to the top of the engine. i see a ring shaped hook, right behind the left side of the altternator, but i'm wondering where i attach the chain to the rear of the engine, there seems to be a threaded hole back there, does that mean that i gotta go buy a bolt to screw in there, i'm kinda clueless, can anyone help me out?
thanks, Matt

There should be two rings. One is near the alternator, the other is likely one you removed - it usually sits by the transmission towards the passenger side. I just threaded mine back in (but not far enough to remate with the tranny) and used it. Worked fine. Of course, dropping the new engine in, I had it mated to the tranny - so no worries there at all

When I swapped motors, I pulled the tranny and all, its a shitload easier to mate the tranny to the new motor beforee you put it in the car...
PS I used both hooks mazda had on there
