engine questions

I just found an alternative to my rebuild or new engine idea. I was thinkin of buying an 87 gxl, and taking that engine and putting it into my 84 -SE and then taking my 84 -se engine and rebuilding it over summer and putting it into the 87 gxl. What all parts other than wat comes one hte cars stock would i need. They are both 5spd manuals, so would i have to swap trany's? Also is there anythign else i would have to swap, and would my 84 se rb header bolt onto the 87 gxl motor in my -se?
