engine questions....

well got the car back from the shop today, found out that the engine has low compression

just have a few questions:

1. i have been considering putting in a 13b -se engine (changing the car from carbed to efi too btw), would it be easier to do this or go back to the 12a?

2. would it be better for the price to get a good used engine or a rebuilt one?

3. kinda curious, does pineapples engines have to be sent to them or do they ship you one?

btw its the apex seals im guessing that its from the dumbass who had the car before me put in 2nd gen plugs on a 12a

thanks for all the help

Sorry to hear about your misfortune.

which is easier? ummm, stick with the 12a

You know the old adage, "You get what you pay for". A used one will be cheaper but how do you know that the used engine you buy is good? At least with a professional rebuild you have reasonable assurance that it will be good and last.

They will ship you one but will probably insist on a core charge. The core charge will be refunded to you when they receive your old engine. Does that answer your question?

I seriously doubt that the 2nd gen plugs had any direct relationship with the low compression problem.

Good luck!
