well i had fun gettin the front pulley off (broke my damn good rachet) but its completely arpat...soon to be cleaned

can the housing and rotors be sand blasted??? will it hurt anything???

if its a mastercraft or craftsman ratchet.....take it back and they will replace it or fix it up nice and purrdy

 

DONOT sandblast them. Thats way too agressive. Glassbead or baking soda would be ok. But getting it out of all the nooks and crannies will be tough. Look in the tech and performance section. Theres a great thread on this subject there. Some guys are using oven cleaner, among other things.

 

thanks carl for the tip...cuz i was sure gona take em into the shop tomorrow and sand blast em.

but i got a better idea...we have a aussie tank (its some kind of Bacterial liquid) that eats greese. so i should clean it up pretty good.

im not able to do the 12a efi like i want because my engine in the car is have compression problems...so i think im gona set this one up stock basically but with blow through turbo and street port.

Oven cleaner is bad to use.

 

Bead blasting is definitely the way to go, in my experience. Just make sure to clean all the nooks and crannies with high pressure air, to blow out the glass beads. Obviously, you don't want little beads of glass rolling around inside your engine after you put it back together!

 

I have used sand to clean junk housing. It makes purdy sparks when you hit the inside.
