Engine heating up

ok first off...my car had some heating problems when i first got the car...but i put a new radiator and that helped a lot.... took all my problems away...But now when i drive in the city it doesnt heat up....but when i go to school (60miles away) It starts to over heat when im at 20 miles....my dad says its the thermostat and the radiator cap...but i dont know...can anyone help me

Check the thermostat. The wrong style thermostat can lead to problems like you are describing. Use only the factory style.

Overheating on normal highway driving, and not in town, is a bit unusual. Check the thermostat, belts, waterpump and fan clutch.
