Energy Suspension Bushings question

Hi guys,

My car drasticly needs to get all of it's bushings changed especialy the front tension rod one, as it's been riped apart and the tension rod has no tension :/

I am thinking of buying the Energy Suspension Bushings set from re-spead and was wondering if any one has ordered this kit from them before and have actual pictures of the kit? or know if the tension rod bushings are there?

Is it a complete kit? or are there some missing bushings for an 83 fb?

also what is Front stay rod bushing kit? unfortunatly my english parts terminology is not that great and i was not able to find the part on the repair manuals.

thanks in advance ^^

the owner of that thread mentions of the same kit you are talking about. ask him or billy from re-speed for pics. good luck with your install! take pics and if you could, do a write up of the installation! i'm sure it would be much appreciated

Yes the full kit includes the "tension rod" bushings, we just call them "stay rod" bushings.

I'd check over the parts list in the ReSpeed version and the full version of the Energy Suspension kits. If I remember correctly, there are a few bushings that are not included in the ReSpeed kit that may be of use to you. I'd check the bushings that aren't included in the ReSpeed kit before ordering anything from ReSpeed, but they are the way to go. I have had nothing but great luck dealing with Billy and ordering parts through ReSpeed. I had to replace rear suspension bushings (in the 4-link bars) because the bolt had fused to the brass liner. This is the kind of stuff that i'd look for, along with dry rot in the bushings not included in the ReSpeed specific kit. Good luck with the bushings, this is on my list of things to do.

He sells both a ReSpeed kit and a Full Kit so I would just go with the full kit.

Yes, the "Re-speed" kit is just an option we came up with. Some guys don't run a rear bar as well as have an aftermarket diameter front bar. It also has half the rear control arm kit, so you can do the lower arms only.

We came up with this kit to keep you from purchases all the bushings when you do not need all of them but less expensive than purchasing the parts you do need separately.

The full kit has every part Energy Suspension sells for the first gen.

I would need a complete kit as i plan to change all of the bushings, they are all original and the car has over 220,000 km and was winter driven, and crashed a couple of times. (only once by me :P)

anyways the order is in, now just to wait for it to arrive, then wait for winter to end, since i have no garage, just a shack to keep the car away from snow. I'm not interested in lieing in snow and working in -20 weather.

Thanks again for the help and all the info.

Sure i can take some pictures, but i doubt i will be able to get any work done till april. Unscrewing bolts in -20 weather is not an easy task.

the only thing is that if you order some things from respeed they will come with the bushings already so you get extra, but i am sure billy would know what to do
